GoodReads description:

She didn’t expect to fall for her best friend.
He was always waiting to catch her.

Corinne Bennett lives in the moment. Whether she’s skydiving out of an airplane, or setting off on the road to anywhere, she’s ready to dive into the next adventure. That is, if best friend and always-by-the-book Nicholas Kelley doesn’t put his foot down on her wild stunts first.

When Corinne gives in to her growing feelings for Nicholas the summer before their freshman year of college, she takes the ultimate risk, making this one adventure he has longed to explore with her.

But the moment they take that irrevocable leap, a shocking revelation blindsides Corinne, exposing her vulnerabilities, baring her fears, and shattering her beliefs about love. With their future—and more importantly, their friendship—now clouded in doubt, she must decide if love is really worth the risk.

Because when it comes to love, you never stop falling.

A recent high school graduate, 18 year old Corinne “Cori” is celebrating her final summer before college starts. She’s quite the adventures teenager but not irresponsible. She has a good relationship with her parents and her friends. She discovers one night that she has developed feelings for her childhood best friend Nicholas “Nick”. As they divulge their feelings for each other, Cori discovers something life shattering and everything in her world turns upside down. Cue 6 years later, lots of broken hearts, and one bitter Cori.

I have to say, this book just didn’t do it for me. Which if you’re actually interested in why, I’ll put it in a spoiler down below. The book was written fine, it was just a little… I don’t know. Immature, I suppose.

This is the entire book “spoiled” for you if you have no interest in reading it:

On the night Cori and Nick tell one another they are in love with each other, Cori finds out her father has been cheating on her mother with a man. Her parents get divorced and Cori and her mom move across the country. She abandons all her friends and doesn’t speak to them for 6 years.

6 years later, Cori is engaged and weeks away from her wedding. She decides to go back home to reconcile with her father who is now living with the man he cheated on her mother with. All her old friends are angry with her except for Nick. Nick, who is now also engaged to be married. Cori is angry and jealous and Nick realizes he never stopped loving her. They try to “avoid” their “reconciliation” but end up CHEATING on their respective other halves with one another. They break it off with their fiancees and end up together. The end.

See, first of all, I can’t stand infidelity. Can you imagine how their fiancees felt? Weeks away from being married and then BAM! They realize their “love” never loved them, cheated on them, and then proceed to dump them. No thank you. Second of all, it just was weird. Not talking to each other and then hopelessly in love? Eh, probably not.

My rating: 2/5.
